I played the demo of academy, it really felt like an expansion pack rather than a proper sequel. Biggestloser I don't think it's really a sequel, though some people call it JK3. I don't think it's quite a standalone expansion pack, either, though.

I think it's one of those games that's somewhere in between where you can't really pin down what it is. In any case, it's a really good game, truly. Easily almost as good as JK2, and while you don't play as Kyle, he is a big part of the game.

I'll tell you what I'd like to see. A game where you play Kyle Katarn's and Jan Ors' son. Now that would be cool. Let's be honest, Kyle's getting on in years. I don't want to see some MGS4 scenario where the character we've played and loved for so long is suddenly this grumpy-looking old geezer.

Besides, at the beginning of every JK game, your character starts out weak and becomes stronger in the force as you progress (logically; it'd be stupid to start off as a master jedi), and in order for this to be if you play Kyle, he'd have to have some excuse for starting over again, and that'd just be pushing it a bit for me.Wait. Wait, I've come up with (what I think is) a great plot idea! Okay, you play Kyle's son, and he is a newer student at the academy.

During some mission where you're working with Kyle and some other jedis, something goes wrong, some sort of mass ambush, and everyone gets killed, including Kyle as he tries to buy time for you to escape (perhaps he forces you into the shuttle and uses his force powers to set it on autopilot away from the planet, I don't know:P). In fact, to elaborate on this, perhaps since you were a newer student you weren't supposed to be on the mission as it was too high-profile for a complete rookie, but you're tired of getting wimpy missions and want something to prove your worth. Kyle finally decided to allow you to, since it isn't expected to be extremely dangerous and you have showed promise. So when Kyle dies, you feel extra guilty knowing he might have got away if you hadn't tied them up. The rest of the game's story has you unraveling a mystery of what went wrong, perhaps eventually finding that there are those who are corrupt within the academy. You have a constant desire for revenge, which would add the element of you having an inner battle between the light side and the dark side. The event of Kyle's death would allow for interesting character development, a side we haven't seen of Jan Ors yet where she communicates with her son and displays her grief, Luke being a wise mentor toward your character, maybe Jaden could even be a part of it, too (though I'm not sure how they would do that), like Luke places him/her in charge of you on various missions or something.

Perhaps Mara Jade could even make a comeback to the series. Obviously this idea would need a lot of tweaking and development, but I can't believe I've thought of this spontaneously. I really like it. Well, I didn't like the story as much either, which is the biggest reason I feel it's a bit short of JK2 (that, and the fact that JK2 made you feel like you were facing a more ominous and powerful opponent, I didn't get the same 'super powerful and dangeorus' feel from Tavion and her supposedly all-powerful sith lord master). But it had the same great action; added powers, lightsabers, and enemies; really diverse levels and gameplay. Overall, I felt it was more than a worthy addition to the series.

The main thing I didn't like, actually, was the ability to choose what your character would look like. I'd rather have that decided for me in a JK game. Plus, there was only one male voice, but numerous different alien characters to pick from. My God, that voice sounded so very off for all but the humans that it was ridiculous. The female voice was different, all the aliens for female were very human-like in appearance for the most part. As for Kyle dying. Well, I think it would be a great way to bring strong emotion into the game and make you feel like you connect with Kyle's son.

Plus, I can't think of many better ways to have a character end gloriously than while protecting a loved one, especially their child. I also feel like while it would be sad to see him go, the series would be able to be carried on through his son, another Katarn (and don't forget that Kyle could still appear later in the series as a spectre, he wouldn't be totally gone).

But if he absolutely must remain, the story could always be changed. The main aspect of my idea is playing the son of not just Kyle, but Kyle and Jan Ors.

JPRussell Yeah, you have a point about starting over, which would have been a bit much after doing that already in the previous two Jedi Knight games. Kyle Katarn is just a tough act to follow for new characters, I guess. If the series were ever revisited, I wouldn't mind seeing something set around the Dark Forces era again.

That way you get him again without having to regain Jedi powers as you progressed through the game. I enjoyed Jedi Outcast quite a bit, as well. Raven did a great job making the lightsaber combat really work. I enjoyed most of the levels in the game, as well.

One of my favorite experiences of the series was fighting along side Luke Skywalker. Jedi Academy also had a lot of fun combat where it incorporated dual weilding and double bladed lightsabers (no more looking at Darth Maul skins skewering themselves). I just wish there were more choices in good Star Wars games not revolving so much around Jedi. That was one of the reasons I kept playing Galaxies long after I should have quit the game. That game became more heavily Jedi focused around the time I was leaving anyway. I'd like to see a game maybe revolving around bounty hunters and smugglers and that sort of thing. Dark forces was really good but also really old and not worth playing anymore.

I liked jedi knight 2 jedi outcast. Itwas a great game and here's why. It was high def. Something like 1024x768 (and therefore had better textures) all the graphics were really nicely done. Good level design.

The fights with stormtroopers were epic. The weapons in the game were also well done. The blasters looked real. All around a very well made game that i would play to this day.

I also like republic commando. This game introduced squad combat to the star wars fps games.it was a very good fps in it's own right and also had a squad. Meaning you had to cooperate with your teammates to get through the game. If you died, a medic would come to heal you. And stuff like that.

Dark forces was really good but also really old and not worth playing anymore. Skyyfox1 Blasphemy. Any old game that was good is worth playing. Hell, I still play Wolfenstein from time to time.

I still play Duke Nukem I from time to time. I play all the older games that I loved as a young boy. And if I had to pick one game I played a lot back then as my favorite, it would probably be Dark Forces. Like I said, I just got done playing Dark Forces about a month ago. I've never had so much fun re-living a classic.

I totally agree with this, it may have been made due to the success of Doom, but it didn't just copy most of its formula, it created a name of its own by truly feeling like it belonged in the Star Wars universe. It was largely inspired by Doom, but that doesn't automatically mean it was a clone. Afterall, Doom was inspired by Wolfenstein, but it wasn't a clone of it (such a shame, people always act like Doom is the mother of FPS that started it all, but hardly anyone gives that credit to the real mother of FPS, Wolfenstein).

Live action sequences? Wait, you mean the cutscenes with live actors? Dude, I LOVED those, what are you talking about? I thought those were awesome, made the various characters feel like they had more depth (like the various jedis you fought, it gave them more character to see what they might act like in real life take Boc, for instance, if the scenes had been rendered in the blocky and limited 3D graphics of JK instead, we wouldn't have gotten that sense of sheepish madness he had). I haven't been buying all the current games I want to. There's too many older games I never got that I want, so I've mostly been getting the new games that I've wanted most, like Crysis and Call of Duty 4. Most of my game time has been spent trying to catch up and buy all those older games where I went 'Ah, I'll get it some other time,' and never did.
